We  are pleased  to receive this endorsement from Avon Wildlife Trust’s CEO Ian Barrett.

The nature emergency has been caused by loss of wildlife habitats and Sites of Nature Conservation Importance in particular need to be protected and managed for their wildlife value. The importance of the habitats and the sensitive nature of the tufa on the site mean that this development should not go ahead. The field should be managed for wildlife, to retain and increase the floral diversity of the grassland and potentially allow some areas of scrub and field trees to support a wider range of wildlife”

We re-iterate our call to develop this site as a community project, to make this green space accessible to all as part of a southern green corridor extending from Rush Hill through to Lyncombe Vale.

Our vision of a habitat maintained with leisure, educational and environmental benefits for all  remains our goal. Please continue to support our efforts by signing our petition and using social media to tell your councillor of our views.

Please support the work of Avon Wildlife Trust. Just a few pounds per month will support an organisation with the scientific and political influence to make a real difference to the lives of us and our children.
