Despite declaring that the plans for the Tufa Field would not be pursued in his inauguration address, only 3 weeks ago,  Councillor Kevin Guy confirmed at today’s cabinet meeting that a new development plan is being considered that will once again threaten this vital green space.

It remains to be seen whether this represents a  stunning u-turn, reinforcing the public’s view of politicians being duplicitous, incompetent and untrustworthy. The residents’ offer or engagement remains, it would have been helpful for the Council to take up the offer before any further public announcement.
